Daddy Showkey has reacted to the arrest of Naira Marley by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

EFCC, on Wednesday released Zlatan Ibile, others who were arrested for fraud related charges but retained Marley in custody.
The veteran Nigerian singer, speaking on the development for the first time, said he did not react initially because he cannot endorse a small child (Naira Marley) insulting an elder (Ruggedman), especially when the elder is right.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, he added that he believes Naira Marley made the disrespectful comments about ‘ Yahoo Boys’under the influence of a substance he smoked.
Daddy Showkey, therefore, appealed to the EFCC to release Naira Marley “A lot of Nigerians have called me because of Naira Marley.
“I lived a dangerous life on the streets as a young man but that doesn’t mean I will advise his child or any young person to live the same way and make the same mistakes I made.
“Temper justice with mercy. This is just a young man growing up. Let us not use his mistakes to spoil his career we all went through so many things growing up.
“We can use him as a spokesman to young people against crime EFCC,may be he will learn with this,” he said.

LETS BE TRANSPARENT:
I Francisca Wallat Dachok, a concerned Plasite and a dogged Nigerian student, having attended and observed how elections are being conducted and coordinated on other campuses, is calling on the NAPSS ELCOM chairman and also urging the ELCOM members In PLASU, to be transparent in the conduct of the forthcoming NAPSS election slated for Thursday, 7th Feb. 2019, this can be achieved through:
1. There should be a register of eligible voters: The ELCOM Secretary should meet the just dissolved NAPSS Treasurer and Financial Secretary to copy and enter into the register, the names and receipt numbers of students who have paid their dues, this will enable us determine the number of students who have paid their dues and are eligible to vote.
2. Pasting names of eligible voters: The ELCOM, having fulfilled the above should then proceed to print and paste the names of those eligible voters on the eve of Manifesto. This will help the Nigerian students and Napsites, know the number of registered students that are eligible to vote.
3. Number of ballot papers: The Elcom should give both Agents and the NAPSS election observers the number of ballot papers that were printed in order to prevent any form of election malpractice.
4. Simultaneous voting process: Accreditation and voting should be handled simultaneously, that is, the indelible ink should be applied once you are accredited and he/she be given the ballot paper to vote immediately, this will help decongest the election ground and also save us from any form of trouble.
5. Queue controller: The security men in charge or whosoever the Elcom deem fit to function as the queue controller, should make sure that, the queue is closed as at when due and nobody should be allowed into the queue when the slated voting time elapses.
6. Crossing of Ballot papers: The Elcom should give the number of used ballots so as to cross and cancel the unused ballot papers.
7. Result announcement: The Elcom should be able to tell the students the number of people who were registered, the number that voted and the number of ballot that remained and we're crossed and canceled.
We live in a world where we all clamour for fairness and equity, and it all starts here. Correcting the general system and electoral process in Nigeria as students should begin with us, it should begin with NAPSS and other Student bodies on campus. Know this, a greater NAPSS means a greater Plateau and a greater Plateau means a greater Nigeria and if Nigeria is great, then Africa will be the giant of the world. Let's not foul the system with greed and selfish strides, let's drop political apathy and work together to achieve greatness. Let's be transparent. Thanks.

2019 ELECTION :PDP acuses APC for importing thugs!
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state was importing thugs and ammunition into the state.
The PDP said APC embarked on this in a desperate bid to win Saturday’s bye-election into the vacant House of Representatives seat of Oke Ero/Irepodun/Ekiti/Isin Federal Constituency.
However, the APC, in its reaction, described the allegation as baseless and said the PDP was only raising a false alarm.
Chairman of the PDP in the state, Kola Shittu, who spoke in Ilorin on Monday, alleged that the APC was importing the thugs from Lagos and Osun states. He said that the motive behind the importations was to disrupt and manipulate the election.
While stating that he had it on good authority that some suspected political thugs were already in the state, Shittu alleged that a leader of the NURTW in Lagos would arrive the Federal Constituency with many others from Tuesday.
He said: “The imported thugs, we learnt, will be camped at different hotels in Ekiti, Oke Ero, Isin and Irepodun local government areas from where they will be operating. The plan of the APC is to deploy these thugs to harass and intimidate members and supporters of the PDP from turning up at voting centres, especially in areas considered to be the stronghold of our party. This will also give the APC leeway to carry out their planned rigging.”
The PDP chairman also said that there was plan by The Federal Government to deploy about 20,000 policemen and soldiers for the bye-election and described the plan as a ploy to create fear in minds of the voters.
“We also believe that this heavy deployment of security officers is deliberate because Kwara is the home base of the Senate President. Our party condemns in its entirety this unnecessary show of force,” he said.
